Prophetic Insight - 17th August, 2023
This Prophetic Insight is preceded by the following two parts as it was so all-encompassing that I had to split it into 3 parts.
Partnering With The Holy Spirit of God
The Indomitable Power of the Holy Spirit of God
As I began to partner with the Holy Spirit of God, I realised that I needed to get to know Him better, in order that I may clearly discern His voice, His will and His wisdom.
More than that, as I grew in discernment, I wanted to know exactly who I was inviting to live in my heart and in my home.
Let us continue to explore the Holy Spirit of God in all His glorious fullness.
As we call to Him and He answers us and tells us great and unsearchable things we do not know (Jeremiah 33:3).
The Many Names of The Holy Spirit
As I searched the bible, I found that the Holy Spirit was called by many names.
Whenever the Spirit of God is referred to, a capital S and capital G is used.
This differentiates the Holy Spirit of God from an unclean spirit that is not of God.
This is an important point to note on our journey towards discernment.
The Holy Spirit Is The Spirit of God
The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God Himself, which He gave to us, in order to set us free from the bounds of this worldly life (1 John 4:13 & 2 Corinthians 3:17).
The Holy Spirit is omnipresent, omnipotent and omniscient, containing everything that is needed for perfection, and is therefore, the ultimate Source of all.
If we walk with the Holy Spirit, allowing Him to guide our steps, we are walking in and with the ultimate wisdom, might and grace of God Himself.
By giving us His Spirit, God gave us His very essence, a mighty gift that we must learn to walk in step with, if we are to enjoy the unparalleled freedom that was bestowed upon us.
This is the peace that Jesus left with us and gave to us (John 14:27).
The Holy Spirit is the Breath of God
The Hebrew word for spirit is ruach, which means air in motion, breath and also life. The Holy Spirit is the breath of God, which gives life and has power and you can tangibly feel Him when He's present, often in the form of a tingling, shiver or cool breeze.
When the Lord God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, the man became a living being (Genesis 2:7).
After the resurrection, when Jesus appeared to His disciples, He breathed on them and imparted the Holy Spirit (John 20:22).
When the LORD's hand was upon Ezekiel in the valley of dry bones, He told him to prophesy over them as He commanded and God's breath entered them, and they came to life and stood up on their feet, a vast army (Ezekiel 37:5 & 10).
On the day of Pentecost, a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where the disciples were sitting. They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that came to rest on each of them and all of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them (Acts 2:1-4).
The Holy Spirit Has A Bodily Form & Descended From Heaven
When Jesus was baptised, the Holy Spirit descended from heaven and took the form of a dove and rested on him (Luke 3:21).
John said that he saw the Spirit come down from heaven as a dove and remain on Jesus (John 1:32).
This bodily form was visible to both Jesus and the other people who were being baptised with Jesus.
When the Israelites left Egypt, God's Presence was with them in a pillar of cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night (Exodus 13:21).
The Holy Spirit can take many forms, a dove is just one of them, and enables God to be seen in a way that people can see and receive.
The Holy Spirit Is The Spirit of Truth
The Holy Spirit speaks to us and for us and testifies because the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of truth, who goes out from the Father.
The Spirit told Peter to have no hesitation about going with the 3 men who had been sent to him (Acts 11:12).
Jesus told Peter, James, John and Andrew that when they were arrested and brought to trial, not to worry beforehand about what to say and to just say whatever was given to them at the time, for it would not be them speaking, but the Holy Spirit (Mark 13:11).
It is the Spirit who testifies, because the Spirit is the truth (1 John 5:6).
The Spirit of truth will guide us into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell us what is yet to come (John 16:13).
Jesus Received The Holy Spirit From The Father
Exalted to the right hand of God, Jesus received from the Father the promised Holy Spirit and poured out what was seen and heard at Pentecost (Acts 2:33).
Peter was referring to the tongues of fire that came to rest on each of the apostles and filled them with the Holy Spirit, causing them to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them (Acts 2:1-4).
After Jesus died, he received the promised Holy Spirit from the Father because all that belongs to the Father is his.
That is why Jesus said the Spirit will receive from him what he will make known to us (John 16:15).
Jesus pours out his love for us in so many ways, we simply need to receive it and allow ourselves to be transformed.
The Holy Spirit is Received By Faith & Pours Out God’s Love
The Holy Spirit is received by faith, not deeds or works of the Law (Galatians 3:2).
Jesus redeemed the gentiles in order that the blessing of Abraham might come to them, so that they would receive the promise of the Spirit through faith (Galatians 3:14).
The Holy Spirit pours out God's love into our hearts and fills us with all joy and peace so that we overflow with hope (Romans 5:5 & Romans 15:13).
We must not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery, instead we are to be filled with the Spirit speaking to one another with psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit (Ephesians 5:18-19).
May the God of hope fill us as we trust in Him, so that we may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit (Romans 15:13).
The Holy Spirit is a Gift That Is Poured Out To Show God's Acceptance
The Holy Spirit is a gift that is poured out by God, to those who obey Him, to show His acceptance (Acts 15:8).
The circumcised believers who had come with Peter were astonished that the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out even on Gentiles (Acts 10:45).
We must repent and be baptised, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of our sins, and we will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:38).
The God of our ancestors raised Jesus from the dead and God exalted him to his own right hand as Prince and Saviour that he might bring Israel to repentance and forgive their sins. The apostles were witnesses, and so is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey him (Acts 5:30-32).
Those who keep God's commands live in Him, and He in them, and this is how we know that He lives in us, we know it by the Spirit He gave us (1 John 3:24).
The Holy Spirit Makes Us Alive
We are made alive in the Spirit, as Jesus was after he was put to death (1 Peter 3:18).
If we sow to please the Spirit, from the Spirit we will reap eternal life (Galatians 6:8).
Because of His great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions – it is by grace we have been saved (Ephesians 2:4-5).
For it is by grace we have been saved, through faith – and this is not from ourselves, it is the gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast.
For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do (Ephesians 2:8-10).
The Holy Spirit Makes us Overseers & Will Be Poured Out On All People
We are called to keep watch over ourselves and all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has made us overseers (Acts 20:28).
In the last days, before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord, God will pour out His Holy Spirit on all people.
Our sons and daughters will prophesy, our old men will dream dreams, our young men will see visions and everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved (Joel 2:28-29 & 32 and Acts 2:17-18).
When we are filled with the Holy Spirit, we have the Spirit of God running through our veins, He is in us and we are in Him.
We must remember the Lord our God in everything we do, drawing close to Him, so that we may prosper, be a watchman and share the good news of life, love and longing fulfilled.
The Holy Spirit is Necessary For Entering The Kingdom of God
The Holy Spirit keeps us in God's love as we wait for the mercy of eternal life.
No one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit (John 3:5).
We must drop our carnal, lustful and fleshly desires and seek to be filled with the Holy Spirit, operating with God’s hand upon us.
By building ourselves up in our most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit, we keep ourselves in God’s love as we wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring us to eternal life (Jude 1:20).
As we feast upon God’s Word, drinking in His Spirit and allowing it to fill us and fuel us, we become clay in the Masters hands, allowing Him to use us as He wishes, for His glory, greatness and goodness.
The Holy Spirit Is A Deposit Guaranteeing Our Inheritance
The Holy Spirit is a seal that we are marked with, a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession (Ephesians 1:13-14).
Now the one who has fashioned us for this very purpose is God, who has given us the Spirit as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come (2 Corinthians 5:5).
We are to guard the good deposit that was entrusted to us with the help of the Holy Spirit who lives in us (2 Timothy 1:14).
God anointed us, set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come (2 Corinthians 1:22).
The presence of the Holy Spirit is clear to all those with eyes to see, ears to hear and a mind to understand.
The Holy Spirit Brings Adoption to Sonship
Those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God (Romans 8:14) and God is our Father.
The Spirit we received does not make us slaves, so that we live in fear again; rather, the Spirit we received brought about our adoption to sonship (Romans 8:15).
The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children (Romans 8:16).
Now if we are children, then we are heirs – heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory (Romans 8:17).
The Spirit is the first fruits as we wait eagerly for our adoption to sonship, the redemption of our bodies (Romans 8:23).
