Prophetic Revelation - 29th June 2023

I heard the words Remember Remember the 5th of November and was reminded that this date is an annual commemoration in England of the failed attempt of the Gunpowder Plot of 1605.

On this date in history, Guy Fawkes and fellow Catholic conspirators attempted to blow up Parliament and assassinate the Protestant King James I of England.

But around midnight on November 4th, Fawkes was discovered in the cellar of the Parliament building with a fuse, a box of matches and 36 barrels of gunpowder.

I was prompted to check the day of the US elections and I was astounded to discover that it was, drumroll, the 5th of November.

This lead me to delve deeper into the things of the past as what has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun. (Ecclesiastes 1:9)

There Is Nothing Hidden That Will Not Be Disclosed

Bearing in mind the unprecedented controversy that has surrounded the US elections in recent years, I realised that God was revealing that something spectacular was coming, involving fire and fireworks.

For years, the watchmen and women have been sounding the alarm, only to be ridiculed, ignored, censored, silenced and in some cases, de-platformed and their licenses revoked.

For there is nothing hidden that will not be disclosed, and nothing concealed that will not be known or brought out into the open. (Luke 8:17 & Luke 12:2)

What has been said in the dark will be heard in the daylight, and what has been whispered in the ear in the inner rooms will be proclaimed from the roofs. (Luke 12:3)

When Cain killed his brother Abel, Abel's blood cried out to God from the ground (Genesis 4:8-10) and in the same way, the blood of the innocent that has been shed cries out and will be avenged.

The Failed Attempt To Blow Up The Government

The Gunpowder Plot was a conspiracy to blow up the House of Lords  during the State opening of Parliament on the 5th November 1605 in order to end the persecution of Roman Catholics by replacing the Protestant government with Catholic leadership.

On October 26th, Lord Monteagle, the brother-in-law of one of the conspirators, received an anonymous letter warning him not to attend on November 5th, and he alerted the government.

An investigation was launched and seconds before everything was about to go up in smoke Fawkes was caught, arrested and tortured, revealing the extent of the plot and the names of his co-conspirators, all of whom were shot dead or captured over the next few weeks, with the survivors taken to the Tower of London where they were tried and executed for treason.

The Observance of 5th November Act was passed, commonly known as the Thanksgiving Act as a public thanksgiving to Almighty God.

For two centuries afterwards, special church services were held to commemorate the Plot's failure under the provisions of the Act, and every year, even now, the British celebrate Guy Fawkes Day with fireworks, bonfires and by burning Fawkes in effigy.

The Reasons Behind The Gunpowder Conspiracy

The persecution of Catholics began when King Henry VIII sought annulment of his marriage to Catherine of Aragon in 1527, which the the Head of the Catholic Church, the Pope, denied.

Some of Henry's advisors were secretly Protestants and they convinced him that if he broke away from the Catholic Church, he would be more powerful and could make his own decisions about marriage and about how the Church was run.

Henry appointed his own Protestant Church leaders that would permit him to divorce and to marry someone else and introduced a series of laws that changed the Church in England.

The Act of Supremacy was instituted, appointing the King as the leader of the Church of England, and Henry permitted the creation and printing of the first complete bible in English in 1535.

With himself positioned as the Head of the Church, the Pope no longer had any power or influence and Henry was free to do whatever he wanted.

A Step Back In Time

At the start of the 16th century, England was a Christian country and everyone followed the version of Christianity called Catholicism.

The Catholic Church was lead by the Pope who was based in Rome and all services were in Latin, but many people could not read or write and what they were told in Church they believed.

However, for some people, the Catholic Church was considered old-fashioned and out of touch and some felt that the Church was corrupt, misleading and took advantage of their belief in God.

A significant trigger to the Protestant Reformation was the Catholic Church's sale of indulgences, whereby an individual could pay for their sins financially as opposed to seeking forgiveness and redemption.

Those who protested still believed in Christianity, but they wanted it to be more accessible and more personal with services in English with an English bible, and these people were aptly called Protestants.

Suppression, Discrimination & Persecution

Catholicism was suppressed as it was seen as a threat to Henry VIII government and Catholics faced discrimination, fines and restrictions on their religious practices.

In addition, they were barred from holding public office, practicing law, and serving in the military and Catholic priests were subjected to harsh penalties, including imprisonment and execution.

James I supported legislation which made subjects swear an oath affirming loyalty to the king and denying the power of the Pope and refusal became punishable in the first offence by loss of goods, life imprisonment and the crime of treason, punishable by death.

Legislation made a political offence out of a matter of conscience and Europe was consumed by bitter and bloody religious wars.

It wasn't until 1829 when most remaining legal disabilities placed on Catholics were finally removed in the Catholic Emancipation Act.

History Repeats Itself

In the same way, the current governments, or rather, those behind the governments, are once again seeking to abolish cornerstones, constitutions and commons sense in their lust for power, as they attempt to re-write the rules to bend them to their will.

Under the guise of liberalism, sold as "progression", progress has been set back hundreds of years and when it comes to the Word of the LORD, it is man that must change, not God.

The problems today are the same problems that have always been, in that good men (and women) do not know the power they hold, do not know how to access it and do not have a relationship with the living God.

This results in all manner of ills including a lack of discernment, an inability to walk in the Power of the Holy Spirit and an inability to tear down strongholds that threaten the security of our nation.

Consequently, the self-elected have forgotten or not realised that it is God Himself who appoints leaders, not man, in order to carry out His will, because man rejected God (1 Samuel 8:7) as King, but nevertheless, God is still, and always will be the Supreme Head.

US Elections 5th November 2024

Over 400 years later, the 2024 US election is set to take place on this same fateful day, where fireworks are sure to be set off in what will go down in history as the most important elections of all time.

As light battles dark, good battles evil and right battles wrong, the stage is set for an Almighty showdown, and no matter what the outcome, seen or unseen, God will most certainly be present.

Despite the unrelenting onslaught of lies, slander, defamation, character assassination and assassination attempts, we wait with baited breath for the truth to be revealed and justice to be served.

What has been said in the dark will be heard in the daylight, and what has been whispered in the ear in the inner rooms will be proclaimed from the roofs. (Luke 12:2-3)

There will be no escaping the monumental move of God that is coming, there will be nowhere to run and nowhere to hide and as surely as God lives, every knee will bow before Him and every tongue will acknowledge God. (Romans 14:11)

Biblical Precedence

As is always the case, biblical precedence has been set and this informs us as to the outcome of any and all acts of disobedience by those who have set themselves up against God.

God's laws and commands are very clear and the failure to honour what has been laid out before us can only result in an Almighty fall from grace as God decrees that He will break the wicked with a rod of iron, and dash them to pieces like pottery, but blessed are all who take refuge in Him. (Psalm 2)

Let us therefore look to the scripture for the answers to all of life's challenges, that we may walk in righteousness all the days of our lives, trusting God for everything, in the knowledge that His golden sceptre of justice rules.

The 5th of November will go down in history once again as a day to be remembered as God takes His seat and returns the cornerstone (Jesus) to His rightful place.

As we keep our eyes firmly fixed on God, calling on Him to break down all strongholds, we can rely on our mighty Protector to always tell us what will be coming next.
