Prophetic Word - 5th December, 2023

An Interview With God

I received this Word whilst watching a movie called An Interview With God, and having peeked only slightly below the surface of this topic upon receipt of this Word, I was excited at the revelation that I knew would follow.

In the film, a Journalist is given 3 interviews with God, each lasting ½ an hour, and as the days progress, his life begins to unravel as he can no longer hide from the truth that is beginning to unfold.

This lead me to think about the truth behind the range of emotions that we find ourselves endlessly oscillating between, with no clear path of how to relieve ourselves from the pain they create.

Repeating Patterns

Like many, I find myself repeating the same patterns over and over, hurting not just myself, but those around me, sometimes to an irreconcilable degree, and other times, getting dangerously close to losing those who matter to me the most, who I would struggle to live without.

No matter how hard I've tried, I haven't been able to find a way out of the maze and the haze that comes over me and the cycle of destruction has become a part of my life that I am loathe to accept or even so much as tolerate.

I comfort myself with the fact that I try so hard to be perfect, making amends as necessary, and the people in my life give me huge amounts of grace in recognition of their knowledge of the real me, but it's not enough, I need to slay this demon once and for all and I need a renewing of my mind and a change of my heart.

Unearthing Buried Treasure

And so my faith has lead me to the next stage of the journey, that of telling the truth about whatever it is that lies beneath tormenting negative emotions.

By imagining the Presence of God, who knows all things, who we cannot hide from or lie to, who loves us and who wants us to cast our burdens onto Him, we can slowly and gently peer beneath the veil we have become so expert and accustomed to shrouding ourselves with.

As we do this, we will be lead towards unearthing the buried treasure on the path towards freedom and victory.

The Thief

Negative emotions can be described as any feeling which causes you to feel down about life, yourself or others. They sap our life force, torment us and create destruction, deception, depravity, despair and depression.

Negative thoughts and the emotions that follow are planted and instigated by the thief, who comes only to steal, kill and destroy our life force, energy, peace, love, happiness and joy.

By taking us down to the pit with him, he seeks to crush and contort us into ceding our power, as he drains our qi and snorts with glee.

Take Every Thought Captive

All emotions first begin as thoughts, and this is why we must take captive every thought and lay it at God's feet (2 Corinthians 10:5).

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. (John 10:10)

Negative thoughts and emotions that cause us to feel down are from the enemy, whilst positive thoughts and emotions that make us feel good and uplifted are from God, and when reviewed in this way, it's easy to identify the sender and the source.

Return To Sender

When it comes to the thief, we cannot let him in - we must bar our doors, windows and gates and refuse to give him a foothold.

We must identify him for the unwelcome intruder that he is, send him packing and place guards around the perimeter.

We must take authority to bind him and loose the opposite such as love for hate, forgiveness for un-forgiveness and joy for sorrow, as we return to God, the Source of goodness, glory and gladness.

Gratitude

We must pray when confronted by the destroyer and thank God for shining a light on him, making us aware of his unwanted intrusion in our lives.

As we lean in closer and open ourselves to listen and learn, we are filled with knowledge, understanding and revelation of God's wisdom.

Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. (Matthew 7:7)

Untold Riches

“What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived”— the things God has prepared for those who love him. (1 Corinthians 2:9)

God will give us hidden treasures, riches stored in secret places, so that we may know that He is the Lord, the God of Israel, who summons us by name. (Isaiah 45:3).

I am constantly in awe of the revelation I receive through prayer, faith and a desire to know God's heart.

The Power of The Spirit

I celebrate and rejoice in the deliciousness of the Holy Spirit's fine outpouring, and revel over the reprimand, reprisal and relief from a long-standing battle with the enemy.

As we deepen in this practice and step forward in God's power, glory and Holy Spirit, the enemy will return to his rightful place, which is under our feet.

This message of God's wisdom was given to me by a demonstration of the Spirit's power, so that our faith might not rest on human wisdom, but on God’s power. (1 Corinthians 2:4-5)

Glory Glory Hallelujah

Hallelujah! Salvation and glory and power belong to our God, for true and just are his judgements.

He has condemned the great prostitute who corrupted the earth by her adulteries. He has avenged on her the blood of his servants." (Revelation 19:1-2)

"Hallelujah! For our Lord God Almighty reigns. Let us rejoice and be glad and give him glory! For the wedding of the Lamb has come, and his bride has made herself ready. Fine linen, bright and clean, was given her to wear." (Revelation 19:6-8).

From Darkness Into Light!

May we step forward in faith, courage and strength as we seek to uncover the wiles and schemes of the enemy, that we may foil his plans.

May we take every thought captive and hold it up to the light of the Lord, that we may know the truth and be set free!

May we become a new creation, clothed in glory and splendour, as we offer ourselves as a living sacrifice in humble service to God.

May we put on the full armour of God and walk in authority, might and power, and may God's light be our guide, all the days of our life.

Amen.
