Prophetic Vision - 6th August 2021

I saw a golden sceptre and God again showed me Esther 8:4-14.

I received a Prophetic Word 7 months prior to this that included the same bible verses which was about the King holding out his royal sceptre to Esther as she requested him to put an end to the evil plan of Haman which he had devised against the Jews.

You can read it here:

There Will Be A Reversal of The Edict

This prophetic encounter is a continuation and confirmation of the previous, the focus of this one being on God's favour.

The King Extends The Gold Sceptre to Esther

Then the king extended the gold scepter to Esther and she arose and stood before him.

Esther asked for an order to be written over-ruling the dispatches that Haman devised and wrote to destroy the Jews in all the king’s provinces.

For she couldn't bear to see disaster fall on her people and the destruction of her family.

King Xerxes replied to Queen Esther and Mordecai the Jew that because Haman attacked the Jews, he had given his estate to Esther, and they had impaled him on the pole he set up.

In addition, he told them to write another decree in his name on behalf of the Jews and seal it with his signet ring—for no document written in the king’s name and sealed with his ring could be revoked.

The King's Edict on Behalf of The Jews

At once, the royal secretaries were summoned and they wrote out all Mordecai’s orders, written in the language of each people.

Mordecai wrote in the name of King Xerxes, sealed the dispatches with the king’s signet ring, and sent them by mounted couriers, who rode fast horses especially bred for the king.

The king’s edict granted the Jews in every city the right to assemble and protect themselves; to destroy, kill and annihilate the armed men of any nationality or province who might attack them and their women and children, and to plunder the property of their enemies.

A copy of the text of the edict was issued as law in every province and made known to the people of every nationality so that the Jews would be ready on that day to avenge themselves on their enemies.

The couriers, riding the royal horses, went out, spurred on by the king’s command, and the edict was issued (Esther 8:4-14).

Esther Highly Favoured Throughout Her Life

Esther was highly favoured throughout her life beginning with when she found favour with Mordecai who had taken her as his own daughter when her father and mother died (Esther 2:7).

She also found favour with Hegai, who had charge of the harem in the King's palace (Esther 2:8-9) and when her turn came to go to the king, she asked for nothing other than what Hegai suggested, and won the favour of everyone who saw her (Esther 2:15).

The King was attracted to Esther more than any of the other women, and she won his favour and approval more than any of the other virgins and was made queen (Esther 2:17).

She also had favour when all the Jews in Susa, Esther herself and her attendants fasted for 3 days and went to the king after this was done, even though it was against the law (Esther 4:15-16) as anyone who approached the king in the inner court without being summoned, the king put to death, unless he extended the gold sceptre to them and spared their life (Esther 4:11).

Esther also found favour in her position of Queen and Mordecai said that perhaps she had come to her royal position for such a time as this (Esther 4:15).

Queen Esther Found Favour Multiple Times Throughout The Granting of Her Request

When Mordecai learned of Haman's plans he sought Esther's help and when the King saw her standing in the court, he was pleased with her and held out to her the golden sceptre in his hand.

He asked what her request was and even offered to give her upto half the kingdom, but Esther simply requested that both he and Haman come that day to a banquet she prepared (Esther 5:1-4).

At the banquet, the King again asked Esther what her petition was and that it would be given to her, again offering upto half the kingdom.

Esther told him that that she would like them both to come the next day to another banquet and that then, she would answer the king's question (Esther 5:5-8).

As they were drinking wine on the second day, the king again asked her what her petition was and told her that it would be given to her, again offering upto half the kingdom.

Queen Esther Instrumental In The Reversal of The Edict

Queen Esther asked the king if he would grant her her life and spare her people, for both her and her people had been sold to be destroyed, killed and annihilated.

King Xerxes asked Queen Esther who had dared to do such a thing, Queen Esther named the adversary and enemy Haman (Esther 7:1-6) and after the first edict had been issued and carried out, he told her how many men the Jews had killed in Susa and asked her again what her petition was and that it would be given to her.

Queen Esther requested that the Jews in Susa be given permission to carry out that day's edict the following day also, and that Haman's 10 sons be impaled on poles (Esther 9:12-13).

So the king commanded that Esther's request be granted, an edict was issued in Susa, and they impaled the ten sons of Haman.

The Jews in Susa came together again the following day and put to death 300 men, whilst the remainder of the Jews in the king’s provinces also assembled and killed 75,000 (Esther 9:14-16).

From Favour To Feasting & Full Authority

The favour that was shown to Queen Esther and the Jews resulted in victory, feasting and joy as they got relief from their enemies.

Their sorrow was turned into joy and their mourning into celebration (Esther 9:17-22).

Queen Esther, along with Mordecai, were given permission to write with full authority, a letter to all the Jews in the 127 provinces of Xerxes' kingdom, to establish the days of Purim in commemoration of their victory as a result of God's favour (Esther 9:29-32).

Surely, the LORD blesses the righteous; He surrounds them with His favour a with a shield (Psalms 5:12).

For the LORD God is a sun and shield; He bestows favour and honour; no good thing does He withhold from those whose walk is blameless (Psalm 84:11).

The Sceptre of God

The sceptre belonging to the king yielded great power, he had the power of life and death in his hands, how much more so, the sceptre of God.

The sceptre is God’s eternal authority over kings, peoples, and nations and is a sceptre of justice (Psalm 45:6).

Jesus rose out of Israel as a sceptre (Numbers 24:17).

Despite the looming insanity, ignorance, foolishness and evil of this world, God reigns supreme and His sceptre of justice will never depart or be diverted or destroyed.

God is Sovereign, He is Almighty and His reign is supreme.

The Lord Favours, Blesses & Shields The Righteous

God's favour makes people favourably disposed to those who are righteous and whose walk is blameless.

Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. Then you will win favour and a good name in the sight of God and man (Proverbs 3:3-4).

Favour, blessing and justice goes hand in hand for blessed are those who act justly, who always do what is right (Psalm 106:3).

The lips of the righteous know what finds favour (Proverbs 10:32) and whoever seeks good finds favour (Proverbs 11:27).

For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favour lasts a lifetime; weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning (Psalm 30:5).

God's Favour Comforts

God's favour binds up the brokenhearted, proclaims freedom for the captives and releases prisoners from darkness.

It comforts all who mourn and provides for those who grieve in Zion - to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair.

The favoured will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendour.

They will rebuild the ancient ruins and restore the places long devastated; they will renew the ruined cities that have been devastated for generations.

Strangers will shepherd their flocks; foreigners will work their fields and vineyards. And they will be called priests of the Lord, and named ministers of our God.

God's Favour Will Feed on The Wealth of Nations

They will feed on the wealth of nations, and in their riches you will boast. Instead of their shame, they will receive a double portion, and instead of disgrace, they will rejoice in their inheritance.

And so they will inherit a double portion in their land, and everlasting joy will be theirs.

For the Lord loves justice, He hates robbery and wrongdoing.

In His faithfulness He will reward His people and make an everlasting covenant with them. Their descendants will be known among the nations and their offspring among the peoples.

All who see them will acknowledge that they are a people the Lord has blessed (Isaiah 61:1-9).

Delight Greatly In The Lord

We are called to rejoice in God's name all day long and to celebrate His righteousness.

For the LORD is our glory and strength, and by His favour He exalts our horn (Psalm 89:16-17).

Let us delight greatly in the Lord; let our soul rejoice in our God.

For he has clothed us with garments of salvation and arrayed us in a robe of His righteousness.

For as the soil makes the sprout come up and a garden causes seeds to grow, so the Sovereign Lord will make righteousness and praise spring up before all nations (Isaiah 61:10-11).

Repentance & Obedience To God

When the Lord favours us, He makes our royal mountain stand firm; but when He hides His face, we are dismayed (Psalm 30:7).

We must acknowledge our guilt if we have rebelled against the Lord, as we scatter our favours to foreign gods under every spreading tree and have not obeyed (Jeremiah 3:13).

We must seek the favour of the Lord our God by turning from our sins and giving attention to His truth, lest disaster come on us (Daniel 9:13).

Whether it is favourable or unfavourable, we must obey the Lord our God, so that it will go well with us (Jeremiah 42:6).

We must obey not only to win favour when eyes are on us, but as slaves of Christ, doing the will of God from our heart (Ephesians 6:6).

Appeals, Prayer & Fasting

Let us pray to the Lord, in the time of His favour; in His great love, that He answers us with His sure salvation (Psalm 69:13).

May He help us to seek His favour and find favour in His eyes. May He teach us His ways, take away our disgrace and make our paths straight.

May The Lord Almighty's ear be attentive to the prayer of His servants who delight in revering His name.

May He help us to abound with His favour and be filled with His blessing that we may continue to grow in stature and in favour with God and with people.

May God answer us, guide us and lead us and send us His Word that we may know and heed His will.

Comfort & Compassion

May the LORD comfort us, have compassion on us, watch over us and place His hand upon us.

May He help us to come to repentance, redeem us and teach us wisdom.

May God look with favour on our offerings and accept them with pleasure from our hands.

May He renew, refresh and rebuild us to innocence as we were when we were children.

May God remember all our good works, engrave us on the palm of His hands and be with us always.

Amen.
